The following is the call schedule for your psychiatry rotation. All call is taken at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC). The student on call is expected to be present for checkout rounds at 1600 on weekdays in the Ward 54 BACK dayroom. Morning report on Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays beings at 0800 on the Ward 54 (782-1554) SIDE dayroom (by the nurses' station).

Because of the new work hours/call mandate from USU and to maximize students' exposure to respective services, the call schedule for the psychiatry rotation has been changed to the following: With the exception of holidays and where specified, evening calls Monday through Thursday are from 1600 to 2200 (6 hours total). The Friday evening call is overnight and is from 1600 to 0800 the next morning (16 hours). The Saturday and Sunday calls are in one 12-hour shift (0800-2000).

Since the calls are not designated to be overnight when there is duty day the following day; the expectation is for ALL students will be at their assigned rotations the next duty day.

If you need to switch call with another student, you must contact the clerkship staff and changes will be made to the online schedule. If that does not occur, you will be held responsible for the call if no one shows up. It is best to confirm the change by USU e-mail so that there is an electronic record of the switch. In case you are going to be late, the POD can be reached by pager at 782-7585, pager no. 1543.
